Skincare by Neli is a wellness and education tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
General information only
Everything in the App is general information for education only. This includes routines, ingredient checks, product suggestions, tips, weather-based suggestions and the AI skin scan. Do not rely on it in place of a qualified healthcare professional.
Limits of the AI skin scan
The scan uses artificial intelligence to describe what it sees in a photo. It:
- cannot diagnose skin diseases or conditions;
- cannot detect skin cancer or pre-cancerous changes;
- can be wrong or miss things, especially in poor light;
- never replaces an examination by a dermatologist.
Ingredients and products
Ingredient warnings follow general guidance, but people react differently. The App cannot know every allergy or sensitivity, and its ingredient data may be incomplete. Always read the full ingredient list (INCI) on the packaging. Patch-test new products, introduce one at a time and give each 2–4 weeks. Stop using a product straight away if it burns, itches or causes a reaction.
When to see a dermatologist
Stop relying on the App and see a dermatologist or doctor if you notice:
- new or changing moles, spots or growths;
- acne that has not improved after about 3 months of over-the-counter care;
- rashes, hives or reactions that do not go away;
- signs of infection, such as spreading redness, warmth, swelling, pus or pain;
- symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, rosacea or another long-term condition;
- skin changes during pregnancy or while taking medication;
- a wound that does not heal;
- any skin change that worries you.
When in doubt, see a professional.
Emergencies
If you have a severe allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or dizziness, call emergency services immediately (911 in the US and Canada, 112 in the EU). Do not rely on any app.
No doctor–patient relationship
Using the App does not create a doctor–patient relationship. The developer is not a licensed healthcare provider.
